Britney Spears is reminding younger performers of the influence she has had on pop music, particularly when it comes to her signature image.

In an Instagram post shared Saturday, October 17, the pop star reflected on her early career and suggested that several younger female artists have adopted the style she made famous.

Spears said she noticed performers recreating her younger image over the past year. While she expressed acceptance of the similarities, she emphasized that her original look was authentic.

The singer referenced her schoolgirl image, which became a defining part of her career following the release of her 1998 debut single, ...Baby One More Time. Its music video featured Spears wearing a school uniform, creating one of the most recognizable looks in late-1990s pop culture.

Spears also reflected on the challenges she has faced throughout her life, saying she continues to stand strong despite difficult experiences.

She did not identify any specific performers in her comments.

Her message ended with a statement about her lasting influence, declaring, “I’M PROPHECY.”
