A proposed 20-foot sign outside of a new honky-tonk venue in Nashville called Morgan Wallen’s This Bar has been denied by the city council. Wallen’s disreputable behavior in recent years was a major factor. “His comments are hateful; his actions are harmful,” a council member remarked, before their 30-3 vote in rejecting the proposed neon sign. In fact, Wallen’s recent arrest and felony charges for a rooftop chair-throwing incident occurred at a bar just 600 feet from the new venue named after the country star.
Morgan Wallen’s This Bar is located in Nashville’s Lower Broadway district, near Ryman Auditorium. It’s set to open this weekend, and will be operated by a third-party even though it is named after Wallen and his 2019 country hit, “This Bar.” (The Tennessean)
